About Us

Dave & Them is a fun and flexible band where the size of the band is what we call "venue appropriate".  The band  always includes Dave, but the size of "Them" could vary. Dave has a group of friends with many years of musical experience that help make any occasion fun playing a wide variety of contemporary, classic rock as well as old and new country.  Drawing from the wealth of experience and an enormous repertoire of songs we can perform, we try to take a personal approach with our audience during our performances.  We focus on audience interaction and playing requests rather than delivering a scripted show.

Dave Watkins

Jeff Kaznica

Jeff Kaznica

Jeff Kaznica has been playing drums in and around St. Louis for over 20 years. While growing up, Jeff was introduced  to big rock acts like Led Zeppelin, The Who, the Police, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Billy Joel, Jim Croce and Elton John.  The drumming of guys like John Bonham, Keith Moon, Mitch Mitchell and Stewart Copeland seeped into Jeff’s subconscious as he listened to his favorite artists and played along to their records.  It was their playing that  inspired Jeff to pursue the drums.

Another grizzled veteran of the local music scene.  Jeff has played hundreds of shows at dozens of venues as small as Spiro’s Greek Restaurant in Chesterfield to as large as the Scottrade Center.

Dan Martin

Dan Martin

Lela Anderson

Lela began playing drums in 8th grade band after being inspired by the drum solo in the song Come Sail Away by Styx and hair bands of the 80's. This was at a time when girls rarely played drums.  She has been playing in local original and cover bands since the mid-90's.  These bands included Roomful of Jimmys, Three Times Fast, Girls Night Out and Spin the Bottle.

Harold Behlke

Harold ‘H’ Behlke is a founding member of the American roots rock band Cottonwood Gunners, but you may have seen him with one of several other local STL bands. He started playing guitar at the age of eleven after hearing the 1st Van Halen album at a party. Other influences include Gibbons, Richrath, Schon, and Santana. Harold plays guitar, bass, trumpet, and sings.

Chris Menk

From grade school drum & bugle to high school band to playing the bar scene at 19, music performance has been a way of life for many years. Influenced by his older brother's bass playing and record collection, Chris started playing bass at age 13. After countless bar gigs, weddings, festivals and opening act concerts, Chris continues his music performance journey with his main gig, Dear Darla.
